Take it from me life can change in a split second. One minute I’m married and happy and the next minute I’m alone and that’s happened twice to me.
Take tonight… We’re all happy and having fun and my son is playing his guitar at the party. Later on in the evening he goes up stairs to lay down because he’s not feeling well. This is not like him.
Alex said his chest hurt. At 11:00 PM I took him over to the emergency at the Latrobe Hospital. He had an EKG and Chest X-rays done. The time was 11:30 PM.
At 12:30 AM we were told that he had air outside his lungs with a possible hole in his esophagus. The doctor confirmed this.
Alex was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital at 2:00 AM. He will likely get surgery within hours.
I am now waiting at Children’s for Alex’s arrival. It is now 3:15 AM. Please keep Alex in your prayer today and for the week. I’m not sure what type of surgery the doctors have planned.
UPDATE 10/29/17
Alex is doing well. After multiple test it was determined that he had a small hole is his lung cause by his esophagus. He’s still not out of the woods as an infection is possible. I have to look over him over the next few days.
At the beginning of this post I was one way and at the end another. What 4:00 AM in the morning worrying about your son can do to you. I praise God for His love that strengthens me. True love endures forever.
